Context:
The P. Mellana and Co. grocery was the first grocery store owned by Peter and Mary Mellana. They later purchased the corner house to the right (4539 Grove Street), raised it a story, built out the first floor as their grocery store, and lived upstairs, where their children, Hazel and Ray, were born.
